Description

Commissioned for the 2005 Nobel Conference concert at Gustavus Adolphus College, this piece is based on Einstein’s name using set theory. It evolved (!) into a 12-tone line, which sounds more like a straight ahead blues melody. There is solo space for soprano (alto sub. part included) sax and piano, plus solos for bass and drums. Written with a “band within a band” texture at the beginning, it has an exciting ensemble shout chorus. This will be a festival winner!
